In January 2011, World Focus enters its 32nd year of publication. Over the years, World Focus has emerged as a major source of Indian perspectives on the rapidly changing global order. Since the present century is being considered as that of Asia, for some time to come, we thought of focusing on India’s neighbourhood and the extended neighbourhood. In the process, we at the World Focus also wanted that the journal should reflect the voice of the developing world too. As a step in this direction we are taking up some of the current developments which have a direct or indirect bearing on India’s National Security. Some of the issues that we covered in the past few years included the developments in China, resurgence in South East Asia and Central Asia and the issues of terrorism. In recent times, World Focus has also concentrated on various contemporary issues relating to Environment and Sustainable Development, Climate Change, India as an Economic Power etc. In 2011, we intend to focus on Indian thinkers who impacted the Indian society to a large extent besides covering on topics like disaster management, trade diplomacy and environmental issues. Diplomacy and strategic dimensions of course are the core areas of World Focus.
